Ellen is COCOON's ultimate weapon who created by 'the Professor' 3 years ago. She has blurry memory regarding her life before she turned to be a monster. All that she could recall is that Professor found her dying body as a cause of some 'accident'. Professor took her body and made her as his very first experiment object in order to create the most perfect creature and weapon just as the COCOON wanted to.

Ellen live at Lab 21 on the COCOON stronghold, but she spent most of her time doing the mission from HQ and professor's task.

Ellen is the first and the most success result of the DEUS project. Her cell, DNA, and her growth and experiment data is used by the Professor to create another specimen and the foundation of living weapon development to be the main army of COCOON. Ellen took these development result as her own siblings.

Professor and Ellen has a special bond. She has a debt to him as Professor had 'reborn' her - although not as a human anymore - and live in a very different world. But life - in any kind or shape - is something that you must be grateful for. In order to pay the debt, Ellen promised to make the professor's dream come into life, although she has to exterminate the mankind itself. 

Beside the affinity between Ellen and Professor, they also had a 'promise'; which Ellen couldn't even recall it. But it's this very vow which bound these two altogether...
